Take Part in Shaping The Glen's FutureWatkins Glen International asks for fans input in naming new grandstands

The grandstands have changed at Watkins Glen International and now is the time for the names to change as well. With the replacement of the remaining grandstands ongoing, The Glen has decided to rename five existing grandstands prior to the start of the 2012 season. Fan submissions will be accepted through Saturday, March 31 for suggestions on new names for the Green, Silver, Red, White and Blue, Turn 10 and Turn 11 stands.

The Glen staff, appreciating fans' extensive knowledge, knows its fans will provide outstanding suggestions. Fans are encouraged to pass along their ideas through email at racing@theglen.com prior to the March 31 deadline. For those without email access, grandstand name ideas may be submitted by mail to Watkins Glen International – Grandstands, 2790 County Route 16, Watkins Glen, NY 14891. From a comprehensive list including names submitted by fans, The Glen will select the new names and release them to the public leading up to Opening Weekend (April 21-22).

Ideas for grandstand names may come from any aspect of Watkins Glen International history, both on and off the track. Perhaps it will have a tie to the Finger Lakes Region or maybe be a Legend of The Glen or a team owner from one of the many premier series to compete at WGI. It may also be a former member of the WGI staff, a race official or a driver who has challenged the twists and turns.
