Nissan Releases Production, Sales And Export Results For April, 2013
May 30, 2013 by NissanYOKOHAMA, Japan - Nissan Motor Co., Ltd. today announced its production, sales and export figures for April 2013. 1. Production Nissan's global production in April increased 7.3% year-on-year to 396,676 units, marking an all-time record for the month of April. Production in Japan was down 12.7% year-on-year to 74,888 units. Production outside of Japan increased 13.4% year-on-year to 321,788 units, marking an all-time record for the month of April. In the U.S., production increased 17.0% year-on-year to 63,738 units, mainly due to increased demand for the Altima and Pathfinder. In Mexico, production increased 40.8% year-on-year to 58,256 units, mainly due to increased demand for passenger vehicles including the Versa (model name is Latio in Japan). In the U.K., production was up 26.6% year-on-year to 34,655 units.

In Spain, production increased 10.1% year-on-year to 12,731 units. In China, production increased 7.1% year-on-year to 106,797 units, mainly due to increased demand for the Sylphy and Venucia R50, which began local production in June and August 2012, respectively. Production in other regions increased 22.0% year-on-year to 45,611 units, mainly due to increased demand in Thailand for the Sylphy (which began local production in August 2012) and Pulsar (which began local production in January 2013), in addition to increased demand in India. 2. Sales Global sales increased 0.2% year-on-year to 364,336 units, marking an all-time record for the month of April. Including mini-vehicles, Nissan sold 37,538 units in Japan, a decline of 4.8% year-on-year. In Japan, vehicle registrations in April increased 13.0% year-on-year to 29,810 units, mainly due to increased demand for the Note and NV350 Caravan. Mini-vehicle sales in Japan decreased 40.7% year-on-year to 7,728 units. Sales outside of Japan increased 0.8% year-on-year to 326,798 units, marking an all-time record for the month of April. Sales in the U.S. increased 23.2% year-on-year to 87,847 units, mainly due to increased demand for the Altima, Sentra, Pathfinder, Rogue and Nissan LEAF. In Europe, sales declined 10.9% year-on-year to 43,728 units. In China, sales increased 3.2% year-on-year to 103,300 units, mainly due to increased demand for the Teana and Sylphy. Sales in other regions decreased 5.9% year-on-year to 62,577 units. 3. Japan Exports Nissan's exports in April decreased 14.5% year-on-year to 45,010 units. Exports to North America decreased 10.2% year-on-year to 29,242 units. Exports to Europe decreased 4.5% year-on-year to 5,628 units.
