FERRARI ACTION IN FRANCE AND THE USA

Company press release.

FERRARI ACTION IN FRANCE AND THE USAMaranello, 28 June - Twenty-two Ferrari 458 will be in action this weekend; in the third round of the Blancpain championship at the French circuit of Paul Ricard and in the USA for the Grand Am six hours of Watkins Glen.

So far in the Blancpain Series it is one race all to Ferrari and Aston Martin in the pro class – so the Ferrari teams have it all to play for on the High Speed Test Track in the South of France. The Kessel Racing trio of Daniel Zampieri, Davide Rigon and Cesar Ramos will be keen to hold onto the top spot in the championship tables. They are just one of the 17 Prancing Horses that will be on the grid this weekend - four in the Pro Cup, 6 in the Pro-Am Cup and 7 in the Gentlemen's Trophy.

In the Pro-Am class AF Corse share the top of the table with Team RJN and TDS Racing and the team lead by Amato Ferrari will be aiming to put the previous bad luck of the Silverstone round behind them and push Andrea Bertolini to the top of the drivers' championship.

Always sure to grab headlines will be former French International goal keeper, Fabien Barthez who is entered with his regular team mates Morgan Moullin Traffort and Gerard Tonelli in the Sofrev ASP car.

In the Gentleman's Cup Jerome Policand shares the Sofrev ASP car with Gabriel Balthazard and Maurice Ricci – the trio will be looking to go one place better than the second place they secured at Silverstone – they currently stand third in the tables.

The race starts at 15:00 local time and runs for three hours.

Across the pond at Watkins Glen five Ferrari 458 will be hitting the circuit for the six hour race on Sunday afternoon. Last time out it was a podium for the AIM Autosport Team FXDD for Emil Assentato and Anthony Lazzaro who crossed the line in third position, the pair now joined by Leh Keen will be aiming to repeat the performance.

Scuderia Corsa driver Alessandro Balzan, who lost the lead of the drivers' championship last time out, will be looking to re-take his place at the top of the table. The race starts on Sunday at 11:00 EST.
