BLENHEIM, Ontario (July 2, 2013) – Final preparations are well underway for RM Auctions' annual sale at the historic Inn at St. John's, in Plymouth, Michigan, July 27. The official auction of the Concours d'Elegance of America at St. John's, and a staple on the U.S. collector car calendar, this year's sale lifts the gavel on 80 quality automobiles, with a strong emphasis on important and historic American classics.

Joining the previously announced motor cars offered from the Richard and Linda Kughn collection, additional star cars for the sale include a 1932 Packard Twin Six Sport Phaeton and a 1933 Marmon Sixteen Five-Passenger Sedan, both of which were once property of well-known Michigan collectors. The Packard, formerly owned by respected collector John McMullen, is presented in excellent, show-ready condition, with multiple accolades following its restoration by Fran Roxas, including Best in Class and Most Elegant Open Car at the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance (Estimate: $300,000–$400,000). The 1933 Marmon Sixteen Five-Passenger Sedan by LeBaron, formerly owned by noted collector and Marmon Sixteen enthusiast Marvin Tamaroff, represents everything one seeks in a Classic: a powerful engine and advanced chassis; one of only four known, complete 1933 examples in this body style; known history since new; and an award-winning restoration (Estimate: $350,000–$500,000).

'As a firmly rooted Michigan event, our St. John's sale offers the perfect setting to present such important American Classics with Michigan heritage,' says Gord Duff, Car Specialist, RM Auctions. 'Joining names like McMullen, Tamaroff, and Kughn, there is no doubt that the new owners will be in exceptional, discerning company.'

Other notable highlights slated for the auction podium at St. John's include a beautifully restored 1948 Chrysler Town & Country Convertible that features outstanding woodwork and original accessories (Estimate: $140,000–$170,000); a numbers-matching 1956 Austin-Healey 100M 'Dealer-Prepared' Le Mans BN2 Roadster, ready for the road or for show following a fresh exacting restoration by marque specialists Healey Lane (Estimate: $110,000–$120,000, offered without reserve); and a superb selection of 16 fantastic Cadillacs, representing over 40 years of the marque's history and ranging from the only known 1914 Cadillac Military Sport Roadster by Schutte (Estimate: $125,000–$175,000), to a trio of Eldorados that feature iconic 1950s styling.

Coinciding with the 2013 Automotive Hall of Fame Induction & Awards Ceremony, hosted by RM Auctions on the evening of July 25, and the Concours d'Elegance of America at St. John's on July 28, the events combine to make a must-attend weekend for collector car enthusiasts.
