Friday Highlights At Goodwood Festival Of Speed

Goodwood, 12 July - Scuderia Ferrari driver Marc Gené will be demonstrating the F10 (chassis no.285) as part of the Contemporary Grand Prix Cars class at this year's Goodwood Festival of Speed which starts today. Chassis no.285 was piloted by Fernando Alonso to four grand prix victories in 2010: Germany, Italy, Korea and Singapore.
A handful of beautiful historic Ferraris are also on display on the Cartier Style et Luxe lawn, throughout the weekend; two are particularly notable due to their unique history.
The first is a 1955 Ferrari 250 GT Speciale originally commissioned by actress Ingrid Bergman, who was known as one of Ferrari's best clients in the 1950s. In fact, the 250 GT is even finished in her own personal paint colour called Grigio Ingrid but sadly, Bergman never actually took delivery of the car.
Next is a 1953 Ferrari 250 Europa Pininfarina in a striking colour combination, finished in Bordeaux with a contrasting Bianco roof and sills. The car was personally commissioned by a friend of Battista Pininfarina, founder of the Carrozzeria Pininfarina coachbuilding company, one of Ferrari's longest-standing design partners.
Spectators on Friday will see the Goodwood debut of two Ferraris: Eric Clapton's one-off SP12 EC driven by Gené, in addition to the 740hp F12berlinetta. Also participating in the Michelin Supercar Run are an Ice White Pearl 'Tailor-Made' 458 Spider and a FF sporting a special 'Grigio FF' exterior and a beautiful navy blue semi-aniline leather interior.
