Goodwood, September 13, 2013: As the 2013 Goodwood Revival gets underway, key event partner Credit Suisse announces a number of exciting activities at this weekend's event, with various media opportunities for accredited journalists and photographers attending the Revival.

Following the seven-year extension of its partnership with the Goodwood Motor Circuit, the 2013 Revival marks Credit Suisse's largest ever presence at the sell-out three-day event, which is expected to attract in excess of 145,000 visitors this weekend.

The newly restored Credit Suisse Race Control building is officially opened today by Revival founder Lord March together with legendary ex-racing driver Sir Stirling Moss. This building has played a key role in the Goodwood Motor Circuit's history as the central office for the Clerk of the Course and stewards, as well as for prize-giving ceremonies on its podium roof.

As the building now enters a new chapter in its history today, its duties at the Goodwood Revival include all driver briefings and the prize-giving on Sunday evening, plus Credit Suisse's 3rd Historic Racing Forum (set for 8 p.m. this evening) and a time capsule burial hosted by Lord March at 9:30 a.m. on Sunday morning containing memorabilia from celebrated racing figures such as Sir Stirling Moss, Alain de Cadenet, Jochen Mass, and Emanuele Pirro.

Panelists participating in this evening's 3rd Credit Suisse Historic Racing Forum, moderated by Henry Hope-Frost, will include Sir Stirling Moss, Nick Mason, Emanuele Pirro, and Doug Nye for an interesting debate on 'The Dream Garage – Creating the Ultimate Historic Racing Car Collection.'

A significant and very rare Bugatti will be on display near Credit Suisse Race Control, on the Brooklands Lawn. This once well-known Bugatti Type 51 Grand Prix will be making its first public appearance since 1937. The car was completely forgotten when it was retired and re-bodied into a sports car – only to be rediscovered when it was being restored. Its fascinating history was unraveled by master French historian, Pierre-Yves Laugier.

Now fully rebuilt and race-ready in its original form, this fascinating Grand Prix Bugatti will be presented by Credit Suisse for the very first time in public since the Swiss Grand Prix in 1937.

Following the success of last year's inaugural Credit Suisse Goodwood Revival Photographic Awards, accredited photographers attending the Revival this weekend are encouraged once again to participate by submitting their images in the following Goodwood Revival categories: Action, Atmosphere, and Credit Suisse Race Control.

Credit Suisse Race Control

The Race Control building at Goodwood was originally a wartime airfield building, before being adopted as a circuit office in 1948 when the motor circuit was first opened. The top floor of the building was later added to enhance the view around the circuit, and to accommodate time-keepers, the circuit telephone system and race control personnel.

It was from Race Control that Goodwood's most challenging races were managed, including the nine-hour day-into-night-races in 1952, 1953, and 1955, followed by the three-hour TT races from 1958 to 1964. Much of Britain's motor racing history was written in Race Control, where the emotions of many key moments in British motorsport played out.
