Company press release.

GMC TOWS TRADITION IN MACY'S THANKSGIVING DAY PARADEBrand marks 33rd consecutive year as official truck of parade

DETROIT – On Thanksgiving Day, as we celebrate a longstanding tradition of sharing a meal with family and loved ones, another tradition will march down the streets of Manhattan in New York City. Celebrating its 87th year, the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade® will again be hauled by GMC, the official truck of the parade, for the 33rd straight year.

'We're excited to continue this pairing of two iconic American brands,' said Sandra Moore, director of GMC advertising and sales promotion. 'It's a grand stage to display the unique design, advanced engineering and capability of GMC trucks, complemented by these remarkable floating works of art.'

Amongst the larger-than-life balloons, bands, dancers and celebrities, colorful and intricate floats will trail the bumpers of GMC's all-new 2014 Sierra full-size truck, Yukon Denali/Yukon Denali XL full-size SUVs and the Acadia Denali midsize crossover. The floats, up to 40 feet tall, 25 feet wide and 50 feet long, can weigh as much as 8,000 pounds.

All-in-all, more than 50 GMCs will take part in the festivities in front of an estimated 3.5 million spectators and more than 50 million TV viewers nationwide.
