Plenty of Racing on the Schedule for American Le Mans Monterey

Company press release.

Plenty of Racing on the Schedule for American Le Mans MontereyIt's another six hours into the sunset at famed Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca when the American Le Mans Series returns for the American Le Mans Monterey, presented by Patrón May 11-12.

Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca is one of four race tracks to have hosted an American Le Mans Series event in each of its seasons. Featuring multiple classes of high-tech sports cars competing together, the American Le Mans Series sees constant passing and on-track battles throughout each race. The six hour endurance race, which starts at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday May 12, takes competitors from daylight, to dusk, pushing drivers' and crews' mental and physical abilities.

'With multiple driver changes, speed variations between the classes and the overall challenge of endurance racing, the American Le Mans Series offers plenty of action for fans,' says Gill Campbell, Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca CEO/General Manager.

The Mazda MX-5 Cup, Cooper Tires Prototype Lites powered by Mazda, Pirelli World Challenge Cadillac Grand Prix and IMSA GT3 Cup Challenge by Yokohama support races provide on-track activity throughout the weekend. Off-track offerings include driver autograph sessions, race simulators, tech talks, and of course, plenty of food, beer, wine and Patrón.

A highlight of the weekend's schedule, the grid walk on Saturday at 12:30 p.m., allows fans the chance to walk the starting grid with the American Le Mans Series drivers and teams just minutes before the green flag. It is a rare opportunity to get up close to the cars and share in the action of the opening ceremonies.

General admission at the gate starts at $60. Children 12 and under are free with a paying adult. There is free parking and VIP parking available for $30. Hospitality options start at $250 per person.
