American Le Mans Monterey Just Got Dreamier

Company press release.

American Le Mans Monterey Just Got DreamierThe glitz and glamour of Hollywood is not on actor Patrick Dempsey's mind when he is on the race track. His focus is completely on the task at hand - racing for the win - and with a new addition to his race team he is more determined than ever to capture the checkered flag.

Dempsey Racing took delivery of its new Judd-powered Lola B12/80 LMP2 coupe chassis just two weeks ago and with plenty of long hours and recent testing at Miller Motorsports Park, they are ready to compete at the American Le Mans Monterey, presented by Patron May 11-12 at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca.

Dempsey, the television (Gray's Anatomy) and film (Made of Honor, Enchanted, etc.) star, co-drives and owns Dempsey Racing with business partner Joe Foster. The two have been racing together for six years after initially meeting when Foster was Dempsey's racing school instructor. With entries in both P2 and PC in 2012, this season is the biggest year of operation for Dempsey Racing.

'It is fantastic that Dempsey Racing chose Mazda Raceway to debut their significant P2 entry,' says Gill Campbell, CEO/general manager of Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca. 'Patrick's name certainly brings new interest to the ALMS series and it has been wonderful to see his driving skills and team ownership grow over these past few years.'

Dempsey Racing's second entry in the American Le Mans Monterey, presented by Patron, will be in the PC class with the #25 Hewlett-Packard/Future Electronics Oreca FLM09 co-piloted by Henri Richard, Duncan Ende and Ryan Lewis.

Featuring multiple classes of high-tech sports cars competing together, the American Le Mans Series sees constant passing and on-track battles throughout each race. The six hour endurance race takes competitors from daylight, to dusk and into the darkness, pushing drivers' and crews' mental and physical abilities.

Advance purchase general admission is $60 for a two day pass. Advance ticket sales end Monday, May 7 at 4 p.m. Pacific. Children 12 and under are free with a paying adult. There is free parking and VIP parking available for $30. Hospitality options start at $250 per person.
