TROY, Mich., Jan. 15, 2014 – Start up transportation company Elio Motors will attend the Barrett-Jackson Collector Car Auction in Scottsdale, AZ from Jan. 12 to Jan. 19 to showcase their 84 mpg, three-wheel vehicle. The Elio booth will be located in the Sponsor Pavilion of the internationally distinguished and widely popular auction, which caters to car owners and automotive enthusiasts with the sale of automobiles, trucks, motorcycles and other collector's items. Over 300,000 spectators are expected to attend the event, which includes various auctions, fashion shows, demonstrations and more.

The Elio's specifications are very impressive, including an affordable list price of $6,800. Each vehicle comes equipped with standard features such as air conditioning, heat, defrost, power windows, power door locks, tempered glass, three airbags, a windshield wiper and an AM/FM radio. In addition to these features, the vehicle is outfitted with an 8-gallon tank which allows drivers to travel upward of 670 miles without the need for a fill up and a Safety Management System comprised of a reinforced roll-cage, Anti-Lock Braking System and 50 percent larger crush zones than similar vehicles. This means the Elio is engineered for a five-star safety rating. The brand new Elio prototype, which more closely resembles the final production Elio will be unveiled Saturday, January 18 at the Sundance Film Festival.

Elio Motors has also focused their attention to incorporating the latest technology concepts in their vehicle's design. The Elio's aerodynamic body and composite panels prevent outside noises from reaching the cockpit, which will provide clear listening quality when drivers utilize future Elio electronic features such as an in-vehicle smartphone docking station.

Elio's first manufacturing site will be in Caddo Parish, La., with plans for the first production vehicle to roll off assembly lines in early 2015 and significant production, sales and distribution of the Elio during the next two years.
