AUBURN, Indiana (Jan. 30, 2014)– Auctions America is delighted to announce a bevy of rare, desirable, low mileage cars at its annual Fort Lauderdale sale, March 14 – 16, including classic and modern examples ranging from a 1954 Chevrolet Corvette to a 2006 Ford GT.
With only 4,038 built during production from 2004-2006, the Ford GT is a highly sought after supercar. Auctions America is thrilled to offer two examples in Fort Lauderdale: a 2005 Mark IV Red Ford GT featuring only 346 miles, and a 2006 Ford GT Heritage Edition, one of only 343 produced, featuring a Heritage Blue paintjob with Epic Orange stripes and a mere 81 original miles. Both models are equipped with all four available options—LeMans style body stripes, McIntosh CD stereo system, lightweight BBS forged aluminum wheels and color-matched Brembo brake calipers.
Offerings from Chevrolet include a 1967 Chevrolet Corvette 427/435 Coupe with just 5,900 miles—one of the lowest mileage examples in existence. Finished in original Marlboro Maroon paint and original black interior, the Corvette is equipped with a 427ci V-8 engine producing 435hp and a desirable four-speed manual transmission and boasts a well-documented ownership history. Another low mileage 'Vette set to cross the block in Fort Lauderdale is a striking 1954 Chevrolet Corvette with just 1,370 original miles, finished in the classic combination of Polo White with a sportsman red interior. This car comes from long term ownership in a well-known private collection and has a fully documented history from the day of delivery, including the original dealer invoice and bill of sale.
'In addition to documentation and low production numbers, low original miles certainly add to the desirability of any car,' says Donnie Gould, president of Auctions America. 'The latest low mileage consignments for our Fort Lauderdale sale are offered from long term ownership or prominent private collections and boast all of the elements that a buyer should look for in a collectible vehicle at any level of the market.'
Auctions America's Fort Lauderdale collector car auction always features something for everyone and the 2014 event will continue the tradition. Well-established as South Florida's premier collector car auction, the sale will feature approximately 450 American and European classics and sports cars, Detroit muscle, hot rods and customs that cater to a broad range of automotive tastes and budgets. Beyond the low mileage offerings, additional featured highlights for the sale include:
• a stylish 1973 Ferrari 365 GTB/4 Daytona originally delivered new to Italy and fitted with factory air conditioning. Featuring a well-maintained restoration and a recent full mechanical service, the Daytona is the ideal ride for high speed grand touring, just as it was when new;
• a highly original, well-documented 1969 Ford Mustang Boss 429 fitted with Magnum wheels and its original white and black deluxe interior. Boss 429 expert Ed Meyers oversaw the concours preparation of this outstanding original example, which scored consistently high in three SAAC concours events.
• a freshly restored 1971 Ford Mustang Mach 1 featuring a Super Cobra Jet 429 engine, a close-ratio 4-speed transmission, drag pack, ram-air intake, and a Pewter finish with black interior. Offered from long term single ownership, the Mustang is very well documented and even features the original window sticker.
• a 1935 Hudson Terraplane used in the 2009 Johnny Depp film, Public Enemies, featuring a 350 cubic inch Chevrolet engine, a 3-speed manual transmission, and finished in cream with a dark red velvet interior. The car resembles a Terraplane that infamous gangster John Dillinger once owned, who favored the model's nearly 100 mph speed for fast getaways over the Chevrolets and Fords that the police drove.
The Fort Laurderdale event, March 14-16, at the Greater Fort Lauderdale/Broward County Convention Center is open to the public for a day rate of $10 or a weekend pass of $25. Children 12 and under will receive free admission. For those unable to attend the event in person, Auctions America offers a broad range of remote bidding options including Internet, absentee and telephone bidding, and the auction will stream live online at auctionsamerica.com, providing real-time coverage of the event.
