CHRYSLER CANADA REPORTS BEST JULY SALES IN COMPANY'S HISTORY

Chrysler Canada today announced the company's 32nd consecutive month of year-over-year sales growth, representing the longest sales streak in the Company's history. July 2012 sales were 24,162 compared with 23,385 in July 2011, which represents a 3 per cent increase, marking the company's best July sales in its history. Calendar-year-to date, 154,448 vehicles have been sold in Canada, signifying a 7 per cent increase over the same period in 2011 and the best calendar-year-to-date sales since 2000.

'Strong Grand Caravan, Ram, and Wrangler sales helped propel Chrysler Canada to attain its best July sales results in the Company's history,' said Dave Buckingham, Chief Operating Officer, Chrysler Canada. 'With our fuel efficient, affordable and stylish Dodge Dart compact car just starting to land on Canadian soil, we are confident we will be able to strengthen the car side of our business even more than the 25 per cent growth we've already achieved calendar-year-to-date.'

Proving that you can 'Go Anywhere, Do Anything' in a Jeep vehicle, the Wrangler keeps rising to new heights as it shatters all previous sales records by setting a new all-time sales record of 2,205 units in July of 2012, representing an increase of 16 per cent over the same period in 2011. In addition, the Chrysler 200 enjoyed a July sales record with 1,323 units sold in July 2012 more than doubling sales from July of 2011.

The Fiat 500 continues to put a smile on its customers' faces as it surpassed records from the previous year with 765 units sold in July 2012, representing a 13 per cent increase. Ram pickup continues as the second highest selling vehicle in the country and established a July sales record with 6,515 units sold.

Two Brampton-built Dodge models ranked highest in their segments in the J.D. Power and Associates 2012 APEAL Study. The Dodge Charger ranked highest in the 'Large Car' segment and the Dodge Challenger topped the 'Midsize Sporty' segment. This was the second year in a row both vehicles ranked highest in their respective classes.

The Dodge Grand Caravan saw its sales increase 20 per cent in July 2012 with 5,222 units, up from 4,338 units sold in July of 2011. Dodge Grand Caravan is the third highest selling vehicle in Canada. The country's best-selling and most affordable crossover, Dodge Journey, saw its sales increase 1 per cent from last year, setting a July sales record with 3,148 units sold.
