Stars of American Racing Panel Discussion for upcoming Savannah Speed Classic  The Hilton Head Island Motoring Festival & Concours d'Elegance, one of the nation's signature automobile events, is proud to announce the addition of legendary racing stars, to the already packed Savannah Speed Classic agenda. The scenic river-view site of Hutchinson Island in Savannah will be alive with not only the roar of vintage race cars, off-road drives through the woods, Hot Lap rides at speed, but some of history's greatest automotive influences including Hurley Haywood, Brian Redman, Tommy Milner, David Donahue and Elliott Forbes Robinson.

The 2012 Speed Classic Race Panel-themed 'Stars of American Racing' features a diverse group of drivers whose varied experiences cover the breadth of competing and succeeding in the top racing circuits. The relaxed atmosphere of the Panel, which will be held at 12:30pm on both Saturday and Sunday, October 27 & 28 and is free to all Speed Classic attendees, encourages the drivers to offer candid perspectives on their experiences on the world's greatest tracks.

This year features the return of Hurley Haywood, the Motoring Festival's 2010 Honorary Chairman. Known as the 'most prolific sports-endurance driver of all time,' Hurley boasts thirty-seven starts for the Rolex 24 at Daytona, which he won five times. In 2010 he was inducted into the Sebring Hall of Fame and the Legends of the Glen Hall of Fame. He continues to be an inspiration to his fellow Brumos Porsche team and is the Chief Instructor in the Porsche Sport Driving School.

When it comes to legends, Brian Redman covers the gambit of sportscar racing, Can Am and Formula One. This British-born statesman competed in fifteen World Championship Grand Prix and is known for his many successes in Porsche, Ferrari and BMW racers. In his later career he focused on endurance racing, including winning the 12 Hours of Sebring, the Daytona 24 Hours and many visits to Le Mans. After close to forty years of professional racing, Redman continues making his mark on the historic racing circuit and in 2002 was inducted into the Motorsports Hall of Fame.

Two members of the 2012 Race Panel represent a second generation of American racing. Tommy Milner, son of long time PTG team owner Tom Milner, began his professional career with BMW Team PTG in Grand Am and Panoz in ALMS. His career highlights include a successful season with Panoz, and eight top-ten finishes with the Rahal Letterman Racing. He is now the face of Corvette Racing and won the GTE-Pro Class at the 2011 24 Hours of Le Mans.

Tommy is joined by David Donahue, son of famed Indy Racer Mark Donahue. David began his career with BMW where he won the IMSA SuperCar Driver Championship in an M5 and later, the first podium finish for BMW's North America M3 GT program with Tom Milner's team. Donahue then moved to join the Chrysler, where he drove a Viper to a class victory at the 1998 24 Hours of Le Mans. He won the Rolex 24 at Daytona in a Brumos Racing Daytona Prototype in 2009 and now drives an Action Express Daytona Prototype in the Rolex Grand Am series.

With a resume of pro races won in each of the past five decades, Elliott Forbes Robinson will be another great addition to this year's panel. His list of racing accolades is spread among a variety of racing entities. A former Trans-Am and sports car prototype champion, he has scored victories in over seven different series. From SCCA to Super Vee, Formula 5000 to World Sports Cars, he has also competed in World Challenge, IMSA GTP, GTO, GTU and Supercar and most recently Daytona Prototypes in the Rolex Sports Car Series, where he won two races in 2005 at the age of 61. Even with the list of accomplishments as long as it is, Forbes-Robinson remains one of the most approachable personalities in the paddock.
