Ferrari Club Of America-Southwest Region Hosts International Meet In Palm Springs50TH Anniversary of 250GT Enraptures Spirt of Ferrari with More than 150 Ferrari Vehicles to be Displayed

The Ferrari Club of America International Meet will return to Southern California for the first time since 2002, to be held from October 10th to 14th in the Palm Springs desert playground. With Southern California being home to the largest concentration of Ferrari owners in the country, the 2012 FCA International Meet promises to be a spectacular event. The luxurious Hyatt Regency Indian Wells Resort & Spa will be the event venue and host headquarters, with the track activities held at the Chuckwalla Valley Raceway.

This year's program will honor the 50th anniversary of the Ferrari 250 GTO and the Palm Springs Road Races, with a 5-day event that includes a Concours d'Elegance; track and rally driving; and an evening awards banquet. Open to members of all Ferrari Clubs worldwide, registration and event information can be found at http://www.fca-sw.org/event_reg/fcasw_2012_79.html

According to Marv Landon, Special Events Chair for the FCA Southwest Region, while this year's program recognizes the amazing legacy of the 250 GTO, many other historical Ferrari 'pieces of art' will be showcased as well. 'The initial registration response has been overwhelming, with owners' vehicles ranging from a 1951 212 Export Vignale Berlinetta and a 1955 250 Europa GT Coupé to many gems from the 1960s.' Landon noted that many of these particular vehicles have been shown at worldwide venues including the Villa d'Este as well as participating in recent Mille Miglia events.

While limited registration continues, nearly 100 entrants have already committed to the October event and include such notables as:

• 1951 Ferrari 212 Export Vignale Berlinetta - Peter McCoy

• 250 Europa - 1955 250 Europa GT Coupé - Kenneth Roath

• 365-GTB4Daytona - 1973 365/4 GTB Daytona - William Feldhorn

• 250-SWBComp - 1960 250 GT SWB Berlinetta Competizione - Tex Otto

Every year since 1964, the Ferrari Club of America has held an Annual International Meet, a multi-day event that attracts 500 to 600 participants and approximately 250 to 300 Ferraris.
