OCTOBER 7 DECLARED 'BLACKHAWKS DAY' AT MECUM CHICAGO COLLECTOR CAR AUCTION• Campaign Includes 50-Percent Discount for Persons Wearing Blackhawks Merchandise

Walworth, Wis. – Oct. 4, 2016 – Mecum Auctions and the Chicago Blackhawks have partnered on a special offer for Blackhawk fans attending the Mecum classic and collector car auction at the Schaumburg Convention Center this Oct. 6-8. This event will also include an appearance from the Blackhawks' street team on Friday, Oct. 7, and has led Mecum Auctions to declare Friday: 'Blackhawks Day at Mecum Chicago 2016.'

As Chicagoland's only annual classic and collector car auction, the event will feature an estimated 1,000 collector cars headlined by American muscle cars, classics, Corvettes, hot rods, Resto Mods and more, and it is open to buyers, sellers and spectators. This year, fans who attend the auction wearing their favorite Chicago Blackhawks merchandise will be granted a 50-percent discount that can be applied to either bidder registration or spectator tickets.

The 1974 Dodge Monaco 'Blackhawks Blues Mobile' will be on-site at the auction Friday morning for 'Blackhawks Day at Mecum Chicago 2016,' and the Blackhawks' street team will be in attendance as well. Getting in the spirit, Mecum representatives including auctioneers, bidder assistants and other Mecum personnel will don official Chicago Blackhawks' merchandise.

The collaborative efforts of Mecum Auctions and the Chicago Blackhawks will include the charitable auctioning of a Blackhawks Experience Package Friday morning just before the vehicles begin crossing the auction block. The package will include four tickets to a Blackhawks game, dinner in the Ketel One Club with an Ambassador, custom jerseys and a chance to watch warmups from Zamboni Tunnel. Proceeds will benefit Chicago Blackhawks Charities.

Standard-cost spectator tickets are $30 per person, per day with children 12 and younger granted complimentary admission. Bidder registration is $200 at the auction, which includes admission for two guests for all three auction days. For those who wear Chicago Blackhawks gear to the auction, those prices will drop to just $15 for general admission or $100 for bidder registration.

Doors open each day at 8 a.m. with the auction beginning with Road Art at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, Oct. 6 and at 8:30 a.m. on Friday and Saturday, Oct. 7-8. The cars will begin crossing the auction block at 1 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 6 and at 10 a.m. on Friday and Saturday, Oct. 7-8. NBC Sports Network will broadcast a select schedule of auction coverage, and a live stream of the entire auction will be presented at Mecum.com.
