1903 Knox Model C Runabout

It is believed that this 1903 Knox Model C single-cylinder Runabout was sold new to a wealthy Bostonian family, driving their Knox on the 175-plus mile journey to their Sugar Hill summer home in New Hampshire during the summer. Around the start of the First World War, it was sold to a hotel owner in Sugar Hill, where it remained for a considerable time. The next owner is believed to have been Henry Sabine, a hotel owner who resided in Littleton. The car, having outlived its usability, was repurposed into a buzz saw. When the hotel stable was torn down, the Knox re-emerged and was sold to Fred Prichard, who treated it to a restoration. The long-gone tiller assembly was replaced with a period unit, and some additional parts came from another 1903 example residing in Maryland. The coachwork was re-created using a surviving 1903 Knox as an example.

The car remained with Mr. Prichard for many decades. He repainted the car in 2019 and fitted a new top in 2022.
