1934 Packard 1100 Eight Sedan

  • Chassis Number: 703707
This Packard Eight 1100 5-Passenger Sedan was acquired by the current owner in September 1985. At the time, a body-off-frame restoration was in progress. After the acquisition, the Packard's restoration was completed over a nearly 4-year long time frame.

It is believed that the car was owned by MGM Studios until 1960 and then sold to an individual from Tucson, Arizona, who retained the car until the early 1970s. It then entered the care of an individual from Salt Lake City who never registered it and disassembled it, with the car passed through three more owners until the current owner acquired it.

After the car's restoration, the Packard was awarded the Veteran Motor Car Club of America (VMCCA) Golden Award of Excellence VMCCA at the 1992 Glidden Tour in Lexington, Kentucky.

The Packard is finished in Maroon with black fenders. There is a blue-grey cloth interior, with the upholstery carefully matched to an original sample found inside the car prior to restoration. Accessories include an original dash-mounted Packard radio and Pilot-Ray directional lights. The 320 cubic-inch L-head inline-8 cylinder engine offers 120 horsepower. There is a three-speed Selective Synchromesh manual transmission with four-wheel vacuum-assisted mechanical drum brakes.
