Drifting is going sideways in a vehicle down a road, track, parking, lot, etc. Drifting may appear to be easy, but it is rather complex. It is about style, rather than speed. A light-weight, rear-wheel drive vehicle is best for drifting. To achieve a successful drift, one must drive the vehicle beyond its means of traction and continue this process curve after curve. To achieve this beautiful balet of squeeling tires, smoke, and near chaos, practice and precision is required.
Ohio YSR League
The Ohio YSR League (OYL) offers competitive racing for 50cc to 185cc motorcycles, and 250cc (max displacement) two stroke scooters. Racing is divided into Modified Stock, Supersport, Formula One, Formula two, Motard 4-Strokes, Scooter Stock, Scooter Specials, and Automatic 50 classes.

NASA has created programs that allow owners of all types of cars to experience the excitement of driving hard on premier racetracks in the Northeast. They provide a safe, controlled and educational environment. NASA's High Performance Driving Events (HPDE) have provided many drivers the chance to get on track with their own cars. No racing license, special car preparation or out-of-the-ordinary insurance is needed. Both classroom and in-car, on-track instruction is provided (and required) for all Group 1 and some Group 2 drivers.
