1955 Cadillac Sixty Special Fleetwood Sedan

General Motors was at the top of its game in 1955, and in that high-octane, sizzling sales year, nothing proclaimed 'success' like a Cadillac. After a bold restyle in 1954, the Cadillac line was carefully refined for 1955. The exclusive Eldorado convertible was the flamboyant line topper, but the prestige leader was the elegant and refined Fleetwood Sixty Special sedan. This was the car that showed you had made it.

For 1955 the Sixty Special was given new exterior trim and a new egg-crate grille. The engine received slightly more horsepower and the price came down to $4,342. Production increased to 18,300 units. The 331 cubic-inch V8 engine delivered 250 horsepower.

This example is in unrestored original condition except for an older repaint in the original Pacific Coral color, a one-year-only color. It was this same combination of model and color that graced the cover of the elegant 1955 Cadillac showroom brochure. This unrestored car is an excellent preservation that has covered barely 50,000 miles since new.
