1955 Ford Station Wagon Station Wagon

Ford revised its 1955 models slightly for 1956, and station wagon sales increased slightly from 209,459 to 214,446 units. This was done - in part - to the Lifeguard safety campaign, which offered safety belts for the time. Changes to the exterior included oval sidelights up front, revised chrome trim and larger round tailights, while the interior offered an optional padded dash and visors, double tached doors and energy-absorbing dished steering wheels.

This 1955 Ford Customline Country Station Wagon was once part of the Art Astor Collection. It is painted in Goldenglow yellow and fitted with many desirable options, including the 202-horsepower Thunderbird V8 engine and 'cattle brand' upholstery. It has a Town & Country radio, three-speed Ford-O-Matic automatic transmission, electric clock and backup lights.

In 2010, this Customline Country Station Wagon was offered for sale at the Vintage Motor Cars of Meadow Brook event presented by RM Auctions. It was estimated to sell for $40,000 - $50,000 and offered without reserve. As bidding came to a close, the car had been sold for the sum of $25,300.
