1938 Rolls-Royce Phantom III Navigation
This stunning Rolls-Royce Phantom III started life as a Hooper & Co. Limousine. It was the only Phantom III registered in Ireland, and was originally ordered by Dr. William Lombard Murphy, son and heir to famed industrialist William Martin Murphy. The second owner was London businessman R.H. Gregory. He commissioned H.J. Mulliner to build the present four-door All Weather Limousine body in 1950. The body design is very similar to the body built at the same time by Mulliner for Generalissimo Franco's Phantom IV. The car has been restored back to its original Mulliner specifications. Mrs. Millegan is the sixth owner.
The car was shown at the 2007 Concorso d'Eleganza Villa d'Este, winning Most Sensitive Restoration as chosen by the jury, and receiving its FIVA A-3 designation; and the 2007 RREC Annual Meeting, where it won 1st in Class and the Phantom III Trophy.
This car has the correct Lucas P100 headlamps, fender lamps, and center driving lights, as well as additional rear fender lamps. The wheels are covered with body-color Ace discs. The interior features jump seats for up to three additional passengers, as well as a division glass. The dual trumpet Lucas Twin-Tone Wind Tone horns are era-correct, as are the heater and the radio under the dashboard at the right of the steering column.
