1957 Ferrari 250 GT TdF Navigation
The design of the Ferrari 250 GT LWB Berlinetta was first shown at the 1955 Paris Salon. The first few production cars were built by Pinin Farina and later by Scaglietti. Five examples were built by Zagato. They all had the 3-liter, V-12 engine.
This car with chassis number 0703GT has the rare 14 louver specification that appeared on the first series cars. Only nine cars had this feature. These were subsequently replaced by three and then a single louver on the last series.
This car was entered in the Mille Miglia in 1957 where it came ninth overall. A similar 250 GT LWB came in third. Ferrari 250 GT LWBs Bertinettas are known as TdF or Tour de France cars in commemoration of their outstanding victories in that race from 1956 to 1959. The 250 GT LWB Berlinetta won more races than either of its legendary successors, the 250 GT SWB Berlinetta and the 250 GTO.
