1910 Locomobile Model 30-L Roadster

This Model 30 Locomobile is a speedster having just two bucket seats, a large fuel tank, light fenders, and two spare tires strapped to the back. It is a minimalistic vehicle meant for speed, similar in design to Mercer. Both the Mercer and this example have a 4.5-inch bore and stroke, a T-head four-cylinder motor, and a four-speed transmission. Also, both have been given oversized brakes, a multiple disk clutch, right-hand drive with outboard shift and brake, and a bevel shaft drive rear end.

This example was invited to participate in the 50th anniversary of the running of the Vanderbilt cup race in Long Island. In the 1960s, it was listed for sale with a $7,500 asking price.

The car is very original and correct. It has the original muffler, the brass work is in excellent condition, and the leather upholstery is in excellent order.

In 2010, this car was offered for sale at the Exceptional Motorcars and Automobilia auction presented by Bonhams. As bidding came to a close, the car had been sold for $122,500 inclusive of the buyer's premium.
