The two-passenger Motorette was joined by a four-passenger Stanhope in 1903. The seating for the additional passengers was located ahead of the driving position, with a folding cover opening to serve as a backrest and the fascia board dropping forward as a footrest. That year, two-cylinder cars were added to the lineup, and in 1904 came a four-cylinder Great Arrow.
This Stanhope has an older restoration and a period-correct replacement body on authentic running gear. The seat is upholstered in leather and the engine is an L-head, single-cylinder unit offering 8 horsepower.
In 2010, this Stanhope car was offered for sale at the Vintage Motor Cars of Hershey auction presented by RM Auctions. The car was estimated to sell for $70,000 - $80,000 and was offered without reserve.
