1906 Franklin Model G Tourer

Beginning as early as 1904, the Franklin Company used a 'barrel-front' hood with a simple screen at the front to allow the cooling air in. Years later, the company would switch to a Renault-style 'scuttle' hood and later, a 'horse-collar' grille.

This Model G is powered by a 100.6 cubic-inch four-cylinder OHV air-cooled engine that produces 12 horsepower. There is a three-speed manual gearbox and two-wheel mechanical brakes. It has a rare self-latching top and the car wears an older restoration. There are brass headlamps, side lamps, tail lamps, and a Jones speedometer. The seats are upholstered in red leather.

In 2010, the car was offered for sale at the Vintage Motor Cars of Hershey auction presented by RM Auctions. The car was estimated to sell for $25,000 - $40,000 and offered without reserve. As bidding came to a close, the car had been sold for the sum of $55,000 including the buyer's premium.
