1948 Chrysler New Yorker Navigation
The 1948 Chrysler was virtually identical to its 1947 counterpart. The rear fender was changed and low-pressure tires were added for 1948.
This Chrysler New Yorker was purchased new in February 1948 by Carl Madden of Harrisburg, PA. for $2,500. One of the options he ordered was the Highlander interior. Mr. Madden kept the car until his passing. The car received annual inspections through the 1980s.
This Chrysler New Yorker is powered by a Chrysler L-head eight-cylinder motor with 323.5 cubic inches and 135 horsepower. A Fluid drive, hydraulically-operated transmission was standard equipment.
