  • Chassis Number: 99J1515
This Allard J2 is powered by a Ford 'flathead' V8 engine with ARDUN overhead valve conversion. There is a split axle front end and a DeDion rear setup.

This Allard was the first J2 entered into competition and was the factory entry at Silverstone, England in August 1949. The car finished 3rd in class.

The roadster was shipped to Zora Arkus-Duntov in New York City and driven by Arkus-Duntov at Watkins Glen, G.P., in September of 1949 and later at Palm Beach Shores, Florida in January 1950.

The car was owned and raced by Robert Wilder of Palmer, MA in 1951-52. It won Firsts and FTD at Thompson, CT, Mt. Equinox, VT, Vero Beach, Florida, Burke Mtn., VT, and Bridgehampton, NY. Wilder placed 9th in 1951 and 7th in 1952 in the SCCA point standings.

Years later, the car was restored by Tom Turner and reunited with Arkus-Duntov in 1990 at the Monterey Historic Races.
