The Willys-Knight 88-8 was powered by a sleeve-valve V-8 engine that displaced 286 cubic inches and produced 65 horsepower. They had a rear-transaxle three-speed manual gearbox and rear-wheel externally contracting mechanical brakes. The Model 88-8 was available as a seven-passenger touring car, a seven-passenger sedan, a limousine, and a town car. Pricing ranged from the low $2,000 to nearly $3,000.
The Silent Knight V-8's quiet operation was popular with luxury car makers - including Mercedes. The eight-cylinder Willys-Knight sales were slow, and this luxury model would survive for a few years, with production ending in 1919.
