1929 Dodge Brothers Half-Ton Pickup

The Graham Brothers brand name had been used in 1927 and 1928, but for 1929 the truck was sold under the Dodge Brothers name. This was the first half-ton pickup truck designed entirely by Chrysler Corporation engineers. Powering the truck was a slightly modified Plymouth four-cylinder engine that displaced 175 cubic-inches and produces 45 horsepower. It had a three-speed manual gearbox and four-wheel hydraulic drum brakes. This half-ton pickup was officially listed as the Doge Merchant's Express. It was the least-expensive commercial chassis offered by Dodge up to this time. Dodge truck sales would finish the year fourth nationally, with models up to three tons capacity.
