Chevrolet introduced the Superior, Series V in mid-1926 and was marketed into the first part of the 1927 sales year. Powering these cars was an overhead valve four-cylinder engine with cam-operated oil pump, belt-driven generator, three-speed floor-mounted manual transmission, semi-floating rear axle, and external contracting rear brakes. Total production of 1926 Chevrolets reached 486,366 units.
