1995 Guldstrand Nassau Roadster Navigation
Dick Guldstrand introduced the GS90 Nassau Roadster in 1994. This coachbuilt vehicle is based on the Corvette ZR-1 chassis and engine designed by Steve Winter. Powering the car is a 475 horsepower engine from D.K. Motorsports and a suspension system modified by Guldstrand. Changes included coil-over shocks and thicker anti-roll bars.
When completed, only a few exterior components remained of the Corvette, such as the side windows, rearview mirrors, and the windshield. The exterior of the body was formed from lightweight composite carbon fiber. The overall length of the car was shortened by six inches and the rear was widened by four inches. The air inlets are functional. In the back, there are 12 distinct taillights reminiscent of the original Grand Sports, which also had 12 holes cut into the rear panel.
Guldstrand had plans to produce a Speedster, Roadster, and a lightweight version of the GS90 which would be sold through Chevrolet dealers. GM, however, did not help in continuing the project. Part of the problem was the suggested price tag - the ZR-1 sold for $72,200 with the conversion to the GS90 costing an additional $134,500.
