2000 Plymouth Prowler Roadster

At the 1993 Detroit Auto Show, the first concept of the Plymouth Prowler was introduced. In 1997, the Prowler was added to the Plymouth was added to the catalog. Located longitudinally in the front was Chrysler's High Output 3.5-liter single overhead cam V-6. They had a 42LE auto-stick transmission mated to the rear axle, achieving near 50-50 weight distribution. The chassis was made using aluminum, giving the car an overall weight of just 2,838 pounds. In the front, the tires measured 17 inches and in the back they were 20-inches.

In 1997, Plymouth produced just 457 examples of the Prowler. The 1998 model year was omitted entirely, with the next production batch designated as 1999s. A more powerful version of the engine produced remarkably better performance, and the exhaust was retuned for a different note. Ultimately, the last Prowlers were sold as Chryslers, and the final car was built on February 15, 2002.

In 2011, the car was offered for sale at RM Auctions' Arizona sale where it was estimated to sell for $22,000 - $28,000 and offered without reserve. As bidding came to a close, the car had been sold for the sum of $30,250 including buyer's premium.
