1934 Packard 1107 Twelve Coupe Roadster

This 1934 Packard 1107 Twelve Coupe Roadster is one of approximately 50 of the 960 exclusive Twelves ordered with this open coachwork, designed for two passengers (four if the rumble seat was used). Since Packard began each series in 1934 with body number 11, this Coupe Roadster was the 39th example built. It is believed that it was delivered to Pennsylvania, where J.P. Jones became the first owner on record. Its history from that point forward is unknown, but by 1981, it resurfaced and was in need of a comprehensive restoration, having fallen into a state of disrepair. The task was undertaken by restorer Chris Charlton, who gathered the components needed to commence work and finish the restoration. By 1991, with only the chassis completed, the car was sold to Phil Bray of Michigan. In June 1992, the Packard was sold to Lonnie Fallin of Colorado, and a two-year restoration soon commenced. The V12 was rebuilt by David Dunbar, who upgraded it lightly with moly rings, modern insert bearings, Arias pistons, and other updates for improved touring reliability. Additionally, the Packard was given a Phil Hill 3.58:1 high-speed rear end. The bodywork was handled by Stan Francis of Howard, Colorado, with the assistance of Gene Irvine, who supplied all the new body wood. The Color on Wheels shop of Colorado did the final body preparation and paint, while Auto Weave Upholstery took on the interior.

After the restoration was completed, the car achieved Senior Premier status in CCCA National judging, including 100 points at the 1994 Rocky Mountain Grand Classic, and was a class award-winner at the Packard Experience at Hickory Corners, Michigan. In AACA competition, it won the national Joseph Parkin Award as the finest Packard exhibited in its division in 1994.

In 2002, this Packard was shown at the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance. It was later used on several local tours as well as in the national CCCA Autumn in the Adirondacks CARavan in September 2010.

In early 2011, the car was purchased at auction by the Academy of Art University Automobile Collection. In 2023, the car returned to auction and was sold into new ownership.
