Introduced in early 1965, the latest racing Ginetta was called the G4R. Power was from a Lotus Twin-Cam engine, and mechanical features included disc brakes and an independent rear suspension.
This Ginetta G4R is the last of 15 examples built. It competed from new for 15 years in English club-sport racing. It was brought to the United States in the late 1980s and restored to stock specification. Since then, it has been a West Coast vintage racing car. Its chassis has been verified as one of the original both in correspondence with the factory in-period, and by Ivor Walklett (the designer of the car) after he personally inspected the car at the Ginetta Reunion in 2006.
