1957 Oldsmobile Super Eighty-Eight Convertible Coupe

This Oldsmobile Super 88 is believed to have spent most of its life in California. In the late 1990s, it was given a rotisserie restoration that addressed every mechanical and cosmetic aspect. The chrome was refinished, the interior was properly re-upholstery in white leather and the exterior was stripped bare and repainted in the period GM color Jade Mist. The engine, carburetor, brakes and transmission were disassembled and rebuilt.

The car is equipped with the Rocket V-8 engine and offered 400 foot-pounds of torque at only 2,800 RPM. It is well optioned with power steering, power brakes, power windows, a push-button Wonderbar radio, dual exhausts, spinner hubcaps and whitewall tires. Currently, it displays just over 36,000 miles.

In 2011, this vehicle was offered for sale at the Gooding & Company auction held in Amelia Island, Florida. It was estimated to sell for $130,000 - $160,000. As bidding came to a close, the car had been sold for the sum of $126,500 inclusive of buyer's premium.
