The Fiat 600 was the company's first rear-engine car. Production lasted from 1955 until 1969. These were small vehicles having a wheelbase that measures nearly 79 inches. Thanks to the rear-engine placement, there was relatively ample interior seating plus luggage space in the front.
The 600D model was introduced in the fall of 1960 and brought with it an enlarged 767cc engine, swiveling vent windows and additional louvers on the engine-compartment lid.
This 600D is an original, late-production model with just 43,150 kms. The 767cc rear-mounted OHV four-cylinder engine produces 32 SAE horsepower. There is a four-speed manual transmission and four-wheel hydraulic drum brakes.
In 2011, the car was offered for sale at the Amelia Island auction presented by RM Auctions. The car was estimated to sell for $20,000 - $30,000 and offered without reserve.
