1937 Packard 1502 Super Eight Navigation
This example is number 68 or approximately 100 Dietrich Convertible Sedans built in 1937. According to the Packard Club, it was sold on June 2, 1937, in New York City to Franklin Delano Roosevelt. Reportedly, when the Roosevelt family was finished with the car, it was given to the chauffeur. Giving such a car to a chauffeur was a traditional practice in a family of such stature.

The Super 8 was available in three models with the 1502 being the longest with a 139-inch wheelbase. The 1502 was available in six body styles and all featured a 320 cubic-inch straight eight engine. The Super 8 featured an independent front wheel suspension that utilized coil springs and wishbones. They also featured hydraulic brakes. Packard marketed the car as 'the car that recognizes no rival save the mighty Packard 12.'
