In 1901, the Stevens-Duryea company produced its first car - a two-cylinder 5-horsepower runabout. By 1910, they had built many different models. That year, they introduced the Model AA Tourer with a six-cylinder 35-horsepower powerplant. Company advertising from the period boasted 'the maximum of power efficiency with the minimum of friction and strain.'
