1957 Dual Ghia Sports Car Navigation
Eugene A. Casaroll was an American-Italian businessman who set up Dual Motors during WWII to build trucks and generators for the military. He also ran Automobile Shippers, Chrysler's main car transporter. Smitten with the Firearrow IV concept car designed by Virgil Exner for Chrysler, he approached Dodge Division general manager William Newburg for permission to build the car. He was given the rights and Dodge provided the chassis for the project. Bodies were made in Turin, Italy, and shipped back to Detroit, where they were mounted to the chassis. Power is supplied by a 315 cubic-inch Dodge Red Ram Hemi V-8 engine offering 260 horsepower.
The current owner discovered this Dual-Ghia in the showroom of Dual Motor Company in Detroit in 1957. He felt the price of $7,500 seemed so high that he needed to think about it. The next day he notified Gene Casaroll that he would take it. It has been in his possession ever since. There are just 117 made and it was recently restored to its original Emerald Green Metallic over a two-tone green leather interior.
