1913 Stutz Series B Bearcat Runabout

    1913 Stutz Series B Navigation
After designing the American Underslung while working at the Marion Motor Car Company, Harry C. Stutz decided to build a race car under his own name. He did so over the course of just five weeks in 1911, then he took the car to the inaugural Indianapolis 500, where it finished in a very respectable eleventh position, averaging 67.73 mph with Gil Anderson at the wheel. This success spawned the Stutz company's slogan, 'the car that made good in a day.' The following year, Stutz offered the first Bearcat that changed the face of American motorsport. Stutz entered the new Bearcat in 30 competitive events, and it won no less than 25 of them. Stutz production declined sharply after 1930, and no new cars were introduced. Its last active year was 1934.
