1930 Auburn Model 125 Cabriolet

The Auburn Model 8-125 was introduced in 1930 and was the result of evolution beginning with the 8-88 chassis, which was introduced in 1925. The 125 was powered by a 298 cubic-inch straight-eight engine that was built by Lycoming and produced 125 horsepower.

The Model 8-98 was an affordable vehicle that offered standard features that were often reserved for cars several times its price. The Auburn Model 8-125 was a worthy successor.

This Cabriolet is finished in red and black, with a black soft top, rumble seat and golf bag door. It has a black leather interior, six wide whitewall tires, wire wheels, dual side-mount spares, and a wood-trimmed luggage rack. In the mid-1990s, the car was treated to restoration. In the mid-2000s, the engine was rebuilt.

In 2011, the car was offered for sale at the St. John auction presented by RM Auctions. It was estimated to sell for $60,000 - $80,000. As bidding came to a close, the car was sold for $90,750, including the buyer's premium.
