1936 Frazer Nash Type TT Navigation
The Frazer-Nash company was founded in 1922 by Archibald Frazer-Nash, who with Henry Ronald Godfrey had founded and run the GN Cyclecar Company. The company re-emerged from receivership in1 927 as AFN Limited, which later became the British importer from BMW, an arrangement that lasted until the Second World War.
Between 1927 and 1939, the company built a surprising array of cars, their most famous was the chain-driven cycle-fendered racecars. They were built on a simple chassis with semi-elliptic leaf springs and very quick steering. The cars were distinguished by the stark appearance of their traditional bodywork and athletic handling.
This 1936 Frazer-Nash is a well-preserved Emeryson TT Replica. It is chassis number 12 in a series of approximately 83. It is one of 13 known to reside in the United States and one of just 4 presently running. The car is powered by a 1.5-liter Meadows engine offering 80 horsepower and driving a four-speed chain drive transmission. The car has been fully restored and prepared.By Daniel Vaughan | Oct 2011
