1995 Bentley Continental Convertible Coupe

The Bentley Continental was initially produced alongside its counterpart, the Rolls-Royce Corniche, by company-owned coachbuilder Mulliner Park Ward in the London production facility on Hythe Road. Unfortunately, the recession of the early 1990s saw the closure of the 55-year-old Hythe Road facility so production moved to the Crewe factory. The final Continentals produced had all of the improvements and refinements that the many years of production of the Continental and Corniche had afforded. As production was winding down in the mid-1990s with the impending introduction of the all-new Bentley Azure, only 17 examples of the Bentley Continental Convertible rolled off the line during the 1995 year. Only around eight examples were exported to the United States.

This Convertible is one of those rare examples and was first owned by a gentleman from Beverly Hills. It was ordered in Masons Black with matching Connolly hides trimmed in St. James piping and featuring a factory-installed entertainment system that includes headrest-mounted televisions. There is a new Everflex top and Wilton wool headliner. It has traveled just 22,000 miles from new.

In 2011, this car was offered for sale at the Quail Lodge Sale presented by Bonhams. It was estimated to sell for $150,000 -$175,000. As bidding came to a close, the car would leave the auction unsold, as its reserve had not been satisfied.
