1988 Porsche 911 Carrera Turbo Coupe

Porsche's first turbocharged production car was launched in 1974. In Europe, it was called the 911 Turbo; in the USA Porsche confused everyone by marketing the new car with its internal type number, 930, but that number does not appear on the exterior of the car. Early distinguishing features were wide fender flares to cover the wide rims, a 'whale tail,' or on later cars a 'tea tray', rear spoiler, and rubber stripes left on the street at a stop light. By 1988, the car's second to last year, the engine was a 3.3-liter mit intercooler with a 300 real horsepower, with the 4-speed. A 5-speed was for 1989 only!
