Cosworth-powered Marches won the Indianapolis 500 five straight times between 1983 and 1987, indicating that the lack of success in Formula 1 with the (Williams) FW07 copy was bad luck because when developed into the (March) 81C, helped by George Bignotti, it was an unqualified success. This example is #32, in which Tom Sneva drove to fourth place at Pocono in 1984, but more importantly, it was the first car ever to qualify at the Indianapolis Speedway at more than 210 mph. Sponsored by Texaco Sneva was driving for the new Mayer Motor Racing Team.
