1920 Pierce-Arrow Model 32 Navigation
In 1918, Pierce-Arrow offered 56 different chassis-body configurations. With these vast arrays of options, it was easy to satisfy nearly every customer request. But it was complex, so Pierce-Arrow decided to narrow its offerings. By 1921, the select shrunk to 10 and the only chassis offered was the Model 32. It was powered by a refined version of the previous dual-valve T-head engine which displaced 414 cubic inches and offered nearly 40 horsepower. Pierce-Arrow produced 2,239 examples of the Model 32 before further modifications necessitated a name change to the Model 33.
The bodies for the model 32 were penned by Leon Rubay, who also designed contemporary Marmon and Duesenbergs.
This Model 32 has been in the care of its present owner for over 25 years. It spent a part of its life in the Oberhaus Collection where it was restored circa 1980 at a cost of $125,000. The current owner purchased the car around 1985 and has cared for it in a climate-controlled facility.
