1949 Dodge Wayfarer Roadster

This Dodge Wayfarer Roadster is equipped with a heater, full wheel covers, new and correct wide whitewall tires, radio- and clock-delete options and optional turn-signal indicators. There is also a Carson removable padded roof from California, which was a factory option on the Wayfarer roadster. It is believed that this may be the only Wayfarer Roadster with this unique option installed. The top fits the car's original side-curtains and retains the builder's identification tag, mounted just above the center release latch on the header bar of the top.

The odometer indicates just 40,900 actual miles. It is painted in authentic light green with a light grey vinyl interior upholstery. Power is from a 230 cubic-inch L-head six-cylinder engine offering 103 horsepower. There is an independent front suspension and a live rear axle with semi-elliptic leaf springs.

In 2011, this car was offered for sale at the Hershey auction presented by RM Auctions. It was estimated to sell for $22,000 - $28,000 and offered without reserve. As bidding came to a close, the car had been sold for the sum of $20,900 including buyer's premium.
