1947 Cadillac Series 75 7-Passenger Sedan

  • Chassis Number: 3424318
Beginning in the 1930s, the Cadillac Series 70 was comprised of the Model 70 and 75 and represented the company's line of full-sized V-8-powered automobiles. The shorter wheelbase Series 70 was replaced by the Series 60 in 1938, and the Series 75 was incorporated into the Fleetwood line of cars. The history of the Fleetwood Body Company dates back to 1909 when it was formed in Fleetwood, Pennsylvania. It began as an independent coachbuilder that quickly earned a reputation for prestige and quality work. They provided bodies for such legendary marques as Duesenberg, Isotta Fraschini, Packard, and Rolls-Royce. In 1925, the company was purchased by the Fisher Body company and moved to Detroit in 1931.

This 1947 Cadillac Series 75 Limousine is finished in black with an original tan cloth interior. The front seats are black leather. The odometer shows approximately 50,000 miles. Power is from a 346 cubic-inch L-head V8 rated at 150 horsepower. There is a four-speed Hydra-Matic transmission and four-wheel hydraulic brakes. The wheelbase measures 136 inches.

In 2011, this car was offered for sale at the Hershey auction presented by RM Auctions. It was estimated to sell for $40,000 - $60,000 and was offered without reserve. As bidding came to a close, the car had been sold for the sum of $45,100 including the buyer's premium.
