1960 Cadillac Series 6200 Convertible

For 1960, Cadillac Series 6200 was available as a 4- or 6-window sedan, convertible, or hardtop coupe. They were given a full-width grille, removal of the prior year's pointed front bumper guards, lower tailfins, and less chrome trim. They had plain fender skirts, thin three-quarter length bodyside spears, and front fender-mounted directional indicator lamps. The overhead valve V8 engine displaced 390 cubic inches and offered 325 horsepower. Standard equipment includes power steering, power brakes, automatic transmission, dual backup lamps, windshield washers, and dual-speed wires. Other features included an outside rearview mirror, wheel discs, and an oil filter. The convertibles also received power windows and two-way power seats. The convertibles were upholstered in Florentine leather single or two-tone combinations or monochromatic Cardiff leather combinations.

This 1960 Cadillac Series 62 Convertible is a wonderful example of the bold yet elegant styling that characterized Cadillac in 1960. It has been properly restored and in the early 1990s, was purchased by Mark Miller, lead singer of the country music band Sawyer Brown. This car won a First Junior award at the 1994 southeastern Fall meet held in Charlotte, North Carolina. A year later, the car won a First Senior award at the Winter meet held in Florida, and, in 1996, its accolades culminated in a First Preservation award and a Second Place Grand National award at a club meet in Alabama.

Al Wiseman of Tarpon Springs, Florida purchased the car in 1997. The car was used sparingly and was meticulously serviced before being sold in 2007 to the current owner.

This Cadillac Series 62 is fitted with power brakes, power steering, dual backup lights, windshield washers, and dual-speed wipers. It is also equipped with optional power windows, power seats, a signal-seeking radio, factory air-conditioning, and chrome wire wheels. There are fender skirts and whitewall tires, a fresh interior, a two-spoke steering wheel, and button-quilted white leather upholstery.

In 2012, this vehicle was offered for sale at the Gooding & Company auction in Scottsdale, Arizona where it was estimated to sell for $90,000 - $120,000 and offered without reserve. As bidding came to a close, the car had been sold for the sum of $82,250 inclusive of the buyer's premium.
