This ERA, chassis number R5B, was the second of three B-Types ordered by Prince Chula of Siam. The car was given the nickname, 'Remus' after one of the two twins that - according to the myth - founded ancient Rome after being raised by a pack of wolves. The car was used by the 'White Mouse' team which was run by Prince Chula and his cousin Prince B. Bira. The car was used during 1936 with mild success, with a victory in the Albi Grand Prix. For the 1937 season, it was used as a spare car and later sold to Tony Rolt.
In the capable hands of Rolt, the car scored several victories, including a win at the 1939 British Empire Trophy at Donnington. The car's racing career came to an end in 1949 when it was involved in a massive accident while being driven by John Bolster.
Since then, the car has been completely rebuilt and restored. The car currently wears Thailand's racing colors of blue and yellow.By Daniel Vaughan | Jul 2012
